About AGI For Us
AGI For Us is an open-source project to let any family run a shared AI assistant for itself: one assistant for the household, on the family's own computer, with each person choosing who hears what they tell it.
Founder
Chris King founded AGI For Us and leads it. He is an engineering leader with twenty years in software. He spent six years at Google as a technical lead, then co-founded ClubNFT as its CTO, building tools for NFT collectors. Since late 2025 he has worked full time on AI systems, including an assistant for his own family. He lives in New York.
Why he started it
Getting good results from AI takes a skill most people never have time to learn. Chris built an assistant that carries that skill for his family, and found that the hard part was discretion: knowing what it may repeat, and to whom. AGI For Us is that work redesigned so any household can run it, with each person on their own account, on the family's own computer.
